About Us

Meet the team:

Dr. Matthew Hare

Matt Hare: His research spans from conservation genetics to evolutionary genomics with a focus on aquatic fauna. Most of his research utilizes genetic markers to measure processes such as selection and gene flow in natural populations to address basic and applied questions related to population management and restoration.

Dr. Matthew W. Gray

Matt Gray: As an ecophysiologist, my research focuses on understanding the physiological response of marine invertebrates to current and future environmental conditions (e.g. ocean acidification) and the ecological benefits provided by these organisms over space and time. My studies are intended to broaden our knowledge base and provide relevant information to help inform stakeholder, management, and policy in Maryland and elsewhere.

Sean Kramer: Sean researches in the areas of applied mathematics with an eye toward spatiotemporal aquatic ecosystem models. As such, he develops tools for state and parameter estimation when regions of the spatiotemporal data are hidden. With the availability of mesoscale remote sensing data, these methods can be used to infer model equations, states, and parameters, and perform transport analysis.
